Submit Your Paper
We're seeking submissions that describe real-world examples where you encountered a "stopsign"—a conceptual, ethical, social, or practical obstacle—when integrating GenAI into design research.
Two Ways to Participate
Option 1: Submission Form Only
If you want to attend and potentially present at the workshop but don't have time to write a formal paper, simply complete our submission form. The form includes guided reflection questions about your GenAI "stopsign" experience and is sufficient for full workshop participation.
Option 2: Paper Description + Form
For those who prefer to provide more depth, you can submit a 2-4 page case description following our guidelines. This allows you to elaborate on your experience in an academic format. You can then use content from your case description to complete the required submission form.
If you choose Option 2, please prepare a 2-4 page paper description in the DIS 2025 format that includes:
- A description of the GenAI-related design research context
- The specific stopsign(s) you encountered
- How this obstacle affected your research process
- Any attempts to address or overcome the stopsign
- Questions you'd like to explore during the workshop
Papers can include both successful and unsuccessful attempts at integrating GenAI into design research. We welcome examples from various domains, including healthcare, education, creative practices, social computing, and more.
View our detailed submission guidelines online or download the PDF.
Both options are equally valued, and you'll receive full consideration for the workshop regardless of which submission path you choose. We've designed this flexible approach to accommodate different schedules and preferences.

Please submit your paper by 13th June 2025 using the submission form button below.
We welcome a variety of submission formats - bring your own project, thoughts, work-in-progress, or other related materials. The submission form includes prompting questions to guide your submission.
