- Format: Use the DIS 2025 format
- File type: PDF
Content Requirements
Your paper description should include the following sections:
1. Introduction and Context
Provide a brief overview of your project context and the role GenAI played in your design research. Explain the specific GenAI tools or approaches you were using or exploring.
2. The "Stopsign" Challenge
Describe in detail the obstacle(s) you encountered when integrating GenAI into your design research process. This could be conceptual, ethical, social, technical, or practical in nature. Explain why this presented a challenge for your specific research context.
3. Impact on Research Process
Discuss how this obstacle affected your research objectives, methodologies, or outcomes. What had to change in your approach? What was compromised or enhanced?
4. Response and Adaptation
If applicable, describe any attempts to address or overcome the stopsign. Were these successful, partially successful, or unsuccessful? What did you learn from these attempts?
5. Discussion Questions and Workshop Goals
Outline specific questions related to your case that you'd like to explore during the workshop. What would you hope to gain from discussing this case with other workshop participants?
Submission Tips
- Be specific about the GenAI technologies, methods, or tools involved
- Provide concrete examples wherever possible
- Include any relevant images, diagrams, or screenshots that help illustrate your case
- Consider both practical and theoretical dimensions of your experience
- Be candid about challenges and failures — these often provide the richest learning opportunities
